Class Experience
This summer class combines social studies, art, and hands-on building: students view short video introductions to landmarks such as the Great Pyramid, the Sphinx, and Chichen Itza, then create artworks or scale models. Every two weeks learners complete a painting, sculpture, pastel image, or construction project while learning historical and architectural facts about each site.
Learning Outcomes
Identify key features and historical facts about Egyptian and Mayan pyramid sites
Build models and sculptures representing pyramids and related monuments
Create artworks (paintings, pastels, crafts) tied to studied landmarks
Apply basic STEM and construction techniques to hands-on building activities
