Class Experience

No prior experience required; lessons introduce proper blowing technique, diaphragm support, finger positions, beginner notes (including the C scale), basic rhythm and counting, and simple repertoire such as Hot Cross Buns and Mary Had a Little Lamb. Instruction progresses to additional notes and higher registers as the learner advances, with an emphasis on beginner music theory and ensemble awareness.

Learning Outcomes

  • Produce sound using proper breath support and posture

  • Play simple notes and songs (for example C, D, B) with correct fingering

  • Progress to additional notes and more challenging repertoire as skills develop

Materials needed:

I recommend the Yamaha brand recorder! It is cheap on amazon! I haven't had any kids have issues with any other brand either.
