Become a Reading Detective. This curriculum uses the A to Z Mysteries series to help students in Grades 3-5 practice reading skills through engaging, hands-on lessons. Rather than only answering questions, students hunt for clues, make and revise predictions, draw inferences, analyze characters, and support their ideas with evidence from the text. Each mystery becomes a structured opportunity to practice a specific comprehension skill: locating important details, making logical predictions, reading between the lines, connecting information across a story, and evaluating competing explanations. Lessons include guided reading, small-group or whole-class discussion, vocabulary work in context, and activities that require students to collect and cite textual evidence to defend their thinking. The class launches with a Halloween-themed kickoff to introduce the mystery genre, then follows a repeating three-week case cycle: enter the case and build background, investigate clues and infer meaning, then synthesize evidence and solve the mystery. This cycle repeats as new A to Z Mysteries are introduced, allowing students repeated practice and progressive skill growth. The ongoing club format supports continuous reading practice and deeper discussion across multiple books. Students finish each case able to explain not just what happened but how they know it, using clear text-based reasoning.

Paid once.
Weekly lessons follow a three-week case cycle: Week 1 introduce the book and make predictions; Week 2 investigate clues, vocabulary, and inferences; Week 3 evaluate evidence, form theories, and summarize. Ongoing enrollment lets students repeat the cycle with new A to Z Mysteries.
