Class Experience

This beginner music-reading course teaches how written music translates into sound. Students learn the musical staff, treble clef, note names, common note values (whole, half, quarter, eighth), rests, counting, and simple rhythm notation. Lessons combine demonstrations, clapping, listening, notation exercises, and games to build reading fluency and confidence.

  • Recognize common note values (whole, half, quarter, eighth) and rests

  • Count and clap simple rhythms and notate them

  • Name notes on the staff and match them to letter names
