Intro to Crochet: Basic Stitches and Beginner Projects

A five-week beginner crochet class that teaches foundational stitches (chain, slip stitch, single crochet, double crochet) and applies them to projects: scarf, dishcloth, hair scrunchie, and bag. Each class includes instruction on stitches, in-class practice on the project, and demonstrations of finishing techniques; written patterns are provided.

No experience is required for this class. It is intended for beginners.

Materials needed:

Learners will require these materials for this class:

• Yarn (I recommend using a size #4 for all projects in this class)

• Hook (recommended size will be on your yarn label. I use size 6.0 mm with size 4 yarn)

• Scissors

• Hair elastic

• Yarn needle (also called a tapestry needle)
