Class Experience

This 12-week intermediate course develops conducting gesture, cueing, tempo control, dynamics, phrasing and rehearsal planning, alongside deeper score interpretation and listening skills. Classes include guided conducting exercises, score study activities, repertoire analysis and rehearsal-technique practice aimed at building clarity and leadership when preparing and leading ensembles.

Learning Outcomes

  • Refine conducting technique including gesture, cueing, tempo changes and dynamics

  • Strengthen score study and listening skills to identify instrumentation, texture, form and expressive elements

  • Develop rehearsal strategies and leadership skills for ensemble preparation and communication
