Fairy Tale Science: Investigating the Science Behind Classic Tales

This course uses excerpts from the book Fairy Tale Science to explore the origins and cultural context of classic tales and the real scientific principles behind them. Students read stories, form hypotheses, run hands-on experiments relating to physics, chemistry, biology or medicine, and report results while practicing the scientific method.

Materials needed:

Students will need a copy of the book Fairy Tale Science by Sarah Albee. Students will also need a notebook. If you've taken one of my other science classes, please feel free to use your notebook from another class.

Other materials you might not have include a ping-pong ball, modeling clay, craft sticks, and carnations (you'll want to get these right before the appropriate lesson. I'll let you know!)
