Class Experience

This live lab-style course engages learners in building real circuits and conducting experiments using batteries, bulbs, wires, motors and magnets. Over six sessions students study current electricity, electromagnets, conductors versus insulators, series and parallel circuits, and compare AC and DC, applying scientific testing and troubleshooting throughout.

Learning Outcomes

  • Explain how electricity flows and how it powers common objects

  • Build and test working electric circuits using real components

  • Identify conductors and insulators by testing materials

  • Create and experiment with magnets and electromagnets

  • Compare series and parallel circuits and troubleshoot non-working circuits
