Class Experience
This intermediate-beginning viola course continues foundational study by introducing one skill at a time—posture and bow hold, D major scale, fourth-finger and low second-finger placement, varied bow articulations (staccato, hooked, slur), 6/8 rhythm, and selected beginner pieces like French Folk Song, Ode to Joy, and Minuet No.1.
Learning Outcomes
Improve posture and bow hold to produce a fuller, controlled tone.
Read and perform the D major scale and apply 4th and low 2nd fingerings.
Develop varied bow articulations including staccato, hooked bows, and slurs.
