Class Experience
A five-session beginner course that introduces the flute for first-time players. Students learn how to assemble and hold the flute, produce a good tone, read basic notes on the staff, and play simple beginner pieces, with emphasis on in-class playing and guided practice exercises.
Learning Outcomes
Assemble the flute and produce initial sounds
Use correct hand position and posture for playing
Play the first beginner notes used in band (C, B, A, G, F)
Read corresponding notes on the music staff and play simple pieces
Apply breath control and tonguing techniques for tone production
