Class Experience
A structured beginner small-group course introducing alto saxophone basics: embouchure and tone production, instrument assembly and cleaning, hand position, reading fingering charts, and initial note development (B, A, G and progressing to additional notes). Lessons include targeted practice and progressive skill-building to prepare students for further study or school band.
Learning Outcomes
Develop a consistent embouchure and produce a rounded alto saxophone tone with correct articulation
Assemble, hold, and care for the alto saxophone properly
Read treble-clef notation and use a fingering chart to play correct fingerings
Count and perform rhythms in simple meters
