Roblox Studio Animation: Create Movie-Style Visual Effects

Bring cinematic action to life inside Roblox Studio in this eight-class course for ages 8–13. Learners create a library of visual effects—explosions, impact flashes, energy beams, fire, smoke, sparks, motion trails and fantasy effects—and use animation and camera work to turn those pieces into short cinematic scenes. Each class centers on hands-on making. The teacher demonstrates a technique, students build that effect in Roblox Studio with guided steps, then adjust timing, appearance and movement. Lessons emphasize combining multiple effects, syncing animation and using camera angles to increase drama. Students iterate on their scenes, testing and refining until the result looks polished. Projects are inspired by action, superhero, sci-fi and fantasy themes, but students create original versions rather than copying an existing film or game. This course focuses on animation and visual effects—not programming—so any supporting project setup is provided so learners can concentrate on directing and design. Across eight lessons learners progress from individual effects to full scenes, finishing with an original cinematic sequence that demonstrates the skills learned. Families get setup guidance so students can install Roblox Studio and prepare before the first class.
