Class Experience

This course continues from Hand Sewing for Beginners to teach more elaborate hand stitches used in hand-sewn projects and couture techniques. Students receive step-by-step live instruction to practice stitches and learn when to use them, then begin applying new stitches to a class project. Lecture recordings are available after class.

Learning Outcomes

  • Use several intermediate hand stitches such as blanket, chain, and satin stitches

  • Understand when and how to apply different hand stitches in projects

  • Begin applying new stitches to a small class project
