Beginner Hand Sewing: Projects and Techniques

This hands-on class teaches basic hand-sewing techniques by building skills across small projects (coaster, potholder, placemat, pincushion) that lead into a teacher-guided free-choice final project. Weekly lists of supplies are posted and sessions include demonstration, practice, troubleshooting and finishing guidance.

Materials needed:

two to three types of cotton fabric--old clothes you are willing to repurpose will work

sewing needles $

sewing thread $

scissors $

sewing pins (with colorful balls on top) for stablizing fabrics/patterns in place $

newspapers to make simple patterns

($= can be found at Dollar Store. Other items are usually found around the house.)
