Claim, Reason, Example: Building a Case
Learners take a fun motion, sort arguments for each side, and build two strong points using a claim, a reason and an example.

Kids aged 9 to 13 build and argue a debate case every week, learning to research a motion, structure strong points, rebut opponents respectfully and think on their feet in friendly practice rounds.

Paid once.
Weekly Debate Club gives curious, opinionated kids a structured place to argue well. Each session centres on a fresh, age-appropriate motion, such as whether schools should have longer recess or whether zoos do more good than harm, and learners are assigned to a side.
They learn to build a short case using a claim, reason and example, then practise listening carefully so they can rebut what the other side actually said. Rounds are short and lively, with time to prepare in teams, deliver speeches and hear specific feedback on clarity and logic. Respectful disagreement is the rule, so learners practise challenging ideas, never people.
This is a drop-in weekly club, so new learners can join any week. Each 45-minute session introduces a new motion and skill focus, gives teams time to prepare a case, and finishes with a short practice debate and feedback. No prior sessions are needed to take part.

No experience needed. Learners should be able to read short texts and jot quick notes, and need a device with camera and microphone, paper and a pencil.
Learners jot arguments and rebuttals on paper and write key points on index cards to glance at while speaking.
A step-by-step plan of what your child learns, class by class.

Learners practise listening for the opponent's key point, then respond with a clear, polite counter-argument in quick-fire rounds.
Learners sort statements into fact and opinion, learn why evidence persuades, and strengthen a case with relevant examples.
Learners get a surprise motion, prepare in a few minutes with a partner, and debate it while practising calm, confident delivery.

Yes. No experience is needed. Each session teaches one clear skill before the practice round, so beginners pick up structure quickly. Learners prepare with teammates, so nobody faces a debate unprepared.
Absolutely. This is a drop-in weekly club, and each 45-minute session has its own motion and skill focus. A new learner can join any week without catching up on earlier sessions.
Motions are age-appropriate and relatable, such as longer recess, homework rules or whether pets belong in classrooms. Topics are chosen to spark thinking and friendly disagreement, never to upset or target anyone.
They learn to build a case with claim, reason and example, rebut opponents respectfully, tell facts from opinions and organise a short speech. These critical thinking and communication skills help with persuasive writing and class discussions too.
Usually the opposite. Learners practise listening carefully, responding to the actual point made, and disagreeing politely. Many families find their child becomes better at explaining their view calmly and hearing the other side.
Not necessarily. Ages 9 to 13 is a flexible guide. A younger learner who reads short texts comfortably and enjoys sharing opinions can do well and will learn alongside older club members.
On a weekly plan, cancelling stops future billing, and you can do it any time from the class in your parent dashboard. If you cancel before the second class starts you get a full refund; after that, classes already started count as used and unstarted ones are refunded to store credit or your original payment method.
There is no homework; preparation happens during each session. There is no certificate for this club. Progress shows up in clearer arguments and calmer, more confident speaking from week to week.
