Fuel, Food Labels and Balanced Eating
Explore what nutrients do, why regular meals matter and how to read a food label from home.

A two-week discussion workshop where teens learn how food, sleep and movement affect energy, mood and focus. Through open conversation and real-life scenarios, they learn to question nutrition myths and build balanced habits that fit their own lives.

Paid once.
Teens hear endless advice about food, from social media trends to sports drinks and diet fads. This two-week discussion workshop helps them make sense of it all. In a relaxed, judgement-free setting, they explore how food, water, sleep and movement work together to support energy, mood, focus and growth.
The first session covers the building blocks of balanced eating: what carbohydrates, protein, fats, fibre and water actually do, why regular meals matter for school and sport, and how to read a food label. Learners bring a label from home and decode it together, then discuss what surprised them.
The second session focuses on real life. We look at popular nutrition claims and myths from ads and social media and practise asking critical questions about where advice comes from. Then we talk through everyday scenarios such as skipped breakfasts, late-night snacking, energy drinks and busy sports schedules, and each learner sketches a small, realistic habit plan.
The tone is positive and body-neutral throughout. We do not count calories, label foods as good or bad or discuss weight loss; the focus is on feeling well and making informed choices. Teens are encouraged to share opinions and questions, which builds confidence speaking up about their own health.
This workshop provides general wellness education and is not medical or dietary advice; families with specific health needs should talk to their doctor.
Each 75-minute session combines a short interactive presentation with group discussion, scenario cards and breakout conversations. Learners use a simple worksheet to record ideas, and there is no homework.
