Roblox Tycoon Level 2: Code Upgrades, Rebirths and Saving

Learners who have built a basic tycoon are ready to add the systems that keep players coming back. In this eight-week Level 2 course learners code advanced tycoon features in Roblox Studio and learn how game economies are designed.

The course starts with organizing a tycoon's code so new features are easy to add. Learners then build upgrade trees, where buying one machine unlocks the next option, and they store upgrade data in tables. Next they code multipliers that boost income and display them on screen. Learners explore how to calculate prices that grow with each upgrade so progress stays exciting.

In the middle weeks learners add a rebirth system, where players reset their tycoon in exchange for a permanent bonus. They then use DataStoreService to save each player's cash, upgrades and rebirths so progress is waiting when they return. Later weeks focus on balance and fairness, using simple spreadsheets to plan income and prices and discussing how to avoid designs that pressure players.

The teacher explains each system with diagrams and live coding, and learners adapt the code to their own tycoon theme. Playtests help learners spot features that feel too slow or too fast.

By the end learners will have a tycoon with upgrade trees, rebirths and saved progress. Learners should have built a basic tycoon or know Lua functions and tables.

Each class introduces one advanced tycoon system with live coding. Learners add it to their own tycoon and test balance with classmates.
