Roblox Tycoon Game: Build and Code Your Own Factory Tycoon

Tycoon games are some of the most popular experiences on Roblox, and they are a fantastic way to learn how game systems connect. In this eight-week course learners design and code their own factory tycoon from an empty baseplate.

The course begins with planning. Learners sketch their factory theme, such as a candy factory, a robot workshop or a pizza kitchen, and decide what players will produce. They then build and script droppers that create items on a timer and conveyor belts that carry those items across the factory floor. Next they code a collector that turns products into cash and a leaderboard that shows each player's money.

In the second half of the course learners add buy buttons that unlock new machines, walls and decorations when a player has enough cash. They balance prices so the game feels rewarding without being too fast or too slow. Learners also give each player their own tycoon plot so friends can play side by side.

The teacher demonstrates each system with live coding and explains the logic in plain language. Learners customize every piece to fit their theme and test their game with classmates.

By the final week each learner has a playable tycoon game with at least five unlockable upgrades. Basic Roblox Studio experience is helpful but not required.

How classes work

Each class introduces one tycoon system with a short demo. Learners build and customize it in their own factory, then playtest with classmates at the end of class.

• Week 7: Balancing Prices – Test and adjust prices so progress feels rewarding.

• Week 8: Tycoon Showcase – Polish the factory and host a class playtest.

No coding experience required, though basic Roblox Studio navigation is helpful. Roblox Studio must be installed.
