Roblox Roleplay School: Code Jobs, Schedules and Class Bells

School roleplay games are a Roblox favorite, and building one is a great way to learn how game systems work together. In this eight-week course learners design and code their own school roleplay game in Roblox Studio.

Learners begin by planning their school, with classrooms, a cafeteria, a gym and a playground, and building the campus in Studio. They then write their first scripts to make doors open and lights switch on. Next they code a school clock that moves through a daily schedule and rings a bell at the start of each period, teleporting players to the right room if they choose.

In the middle weeks learners create job roles, such as student, teacher, principal and cafeteria chef, and code a role picker that gives each role a different outfit and tool. They add simple tasks for each role, like serving lunch or collecting homework, with points for completing them. Later weeks add a cafeteria menu, lockers that store items and a school announcement board.

In the final weeks learners polish their school with sounds and decorations and host a class roleplay session to test it. The teacher explains each system with live coding and helps learners keep their code organized.

By the end learners will have a working roleplay school with schedules and roles. Basic Roblox Studio skills are helpful.

How classes work

Each class introduces one roleplay system with live coding. Learners add it to their school and test it in short roleplay sessions.

Basic Roblox Studio navigation. Some Lua experience is helpful but not required.
