Roblox Lua Debugging: Find and Fix Bugs Like a Pro

Every programmer writes bugs, and the best ones know how to find them quickly. This four-week course turns debugging into a detective game. Each class, learners receive a small Roblox game that has been broken on purpose, and their mission is to get it working again.

In the first week learners learn to read the Output window, understand common error messages and jump straight to the line that caused the problem. Week two introduces print debugging, where learners add messages to their code to see what is really happening and in what order. In week three they tackle logic bugs, where the code runs without errors but does the wrong thing, such as a door that never opens or a score that counts twice. The final week covers testing habits, including changing one thing at a time and keeping notes on what was tried.

The teacher models a calm, step-by-step approach and talks through their thinking out loud. Learners work through challenges at their own pace and share how they solved each mystery. This course helps learners become more independent coders who can keep going when something does not work.

It suits learners who have written some Lua before and want to feel more confident fixing problems on their own.

How classes work

Each class starts with a short lesson on one debugging technique. Learners then solve broken-game challenges in Roblox Studio and explain their fixes to the group.
