Roblox Haunted House Builder: Spooky but Kid-Friendly Design

Haunted houses are a fun way to practice atmosphere, storytelling and detailed building. In this four-week course learners design a spooky but kid-friendly haunted house in Roblox Studio.

In week one learners plan the story of their house. Who lived there? What happened? They sketch a floor plan with a creaky entrance hall, a dusty library, an attic and a basement, then build the outer structure with crooked rooflines and boarded windows. Week two focuses on interiors. Learners model old furniture, cobwebs, portraits and bookshelves, using worn materials and muted colors to make rooms feel old.

In week three learners add atmosphere with dim lighting, flickering candles, fog and moonlight through windows. They design a secret door hidden behind a bookshelf and a hidden room with a surprise. The final week brings in friendly spooks, like glowing jack-o-lanterns, a cartoon ghost and a bubbling cauldron, and learners give a guided tour.

The teacher emphasizes keeping things fun rather than frightening and shows how designers create mood without gore. Learners share tips and give feedback on each other's houses.

By the end learners will have a detailed haunted house and new skills in modeling, lighting and environmental storytelling. Basic Roblox Studio skills are helpful.

How classes work

Each class focuses on one part of the house with a demo and story prompt. Learners build and share their progress at the end of class.
