Roblox Fantasy Island: Terrain, Water and Hidden Caves

An island is the perfect canvas for a young world builder. In this eight-week course learners design and build a fantasy island in Roblox Studio, mastering the terrain tools that professional Roblox builders use.

Learners begin by sketching an island map with a mountain, a beach, a forest and a lagoon. They then use the terrain editor to raise land, smooth slopes and paint materials like sand, grass and rock. Next they add water, creating a sparkling lagoon, a river and a waterfall that tumbles down a cliff. In the middle weeks learners carve caves into the mountain, learning to subtract terrain and light dark spaces with glowing crystals and torches.

Over the following weeks learners add fantasy features such as giant mushrooms, floating rocks, a hidden temple and a sunken shipwreck. They plan secret areas and hidden paths that reward curious explorers, and they place signs or clues that hint at where secrets are. Learners also use lighting and atmosphere to give their island a magical mood.

The teacher demonstrates terrain techniques step by step and shares tips for making landscapes look natural. In the final class learners give a tour of their island and challenge classmates to find their hidden secrets.

No coding is required. The course suits learners who enjoy exploring and building big outdoor worlds.
