Learners code a smart companion pet in Roblox Studio over eight weeks. The pet follows players, finds items, gives hints and reacts to the player's needs using game AI rules.

Paid once.
Many games include a helpful companion that follows the player, points out secrets and cheers them on. In this eight-week course learners code their own AI helper pet in Roblox Studio and learn how designers make companions feel smart and caring.
Learners begin by designing their companion's personality and appearance, such as a robot drone, a dragon or a glowing fox. They build the model and code it to follow the player smoothly at a comfortable distance. Next they add helpful behaviors. The pet detects nearby collectibles and flies toward them, and it shows a hint when the player stays stuck in one place for too long.
In the middle weeks learners use simple state machines, switching the pet between modes such as follow, explore, help and rest. They code the pet to react to the player's health or score, offering encouragement or leading them to a safe spot. Learners also add emotes and sounds that show the pet's mood.
In the final weeks learners place their companion in a short adventure level and test whether it truly helps players. They discuss how helpful AI should support players without taking over.
The teacher explains each behavior with diagrams and live coding. Basic Lua knowledge is recommended.
Each class adds one companion behavior with live coding. Learners test the pet in their level and adjust its rules.
