1-on-1 Minecraft Modding with Java

This course teaches real programming through Minecraft modding. Teens set up a modding environment and learn Java step by step by adding custom items, blocks and behaviors to the game.

The coach explains every concept in plain language and helps debug, so teens finish with their own working mod and a solid foundation in Java.

How classes work

Every session is private and paced to the learner. The teacher starts by checking where the learner is, adjusts the plan to their goals and gives detailed feedback in every class.

What we'll cover

• Session 1: Setup – Install Java, an IDE and the modding toolkit and run a test mod.

• Session 2: Java Basics – Learn variables, classes and methods by reading mod code.

• Session 3: Custom Items – Add a brand-new item with its own texture.

• Session 4: Custom Blocks – Add a new block with custom properties.

• Session 5: Crafting Recipes – Add crafting and smelting recipes.

• Session 6: Events – Make things happen in the game using events.

• Session 7: Debugging – Use logs and the debugger to find and fix bugs.

• Session 8: Share Your Mod – Package the mod and present it.
