Class Experience

Dive into the ocean with friends in this weekly social club. Each session explores a different part of a coral reef, from clownfish and sea turtles to octopuses and sharks, with fun facts, short videos and plenty of time to chat.

Learners build their own reef diorama in a shoebox over several sessions, adding a new creature or habitat feature each week. By the end they have a colorful ocean scene to show off and lots of new reef facts to share.

How classes work

Each weekly session opens with a quick warm-up and a short new idea, then learners work on the session's challenge together while the teacher guides the group. Sessions end with time to share. New learners can join any week because each session stands on its own.

What we'll cover

  • Session theme 1: Welcome to the Reef – Explore what coral is, set up the shoebox and paint or color the ocean background.

  • Session theme 2: Reef Fish and Friends – Meet clownfish, parrotfish and sea turtles, then make two of them for the diorama.

  • Session theme 3: Hidden Reef Creatures – Learn how octopuses and eels hide, then add rocks and caves to the reef.

  • Session theme 4: Sharks and Reef Protectors – Discover reef sharks and ways to protect oceans, then finish and show the diorama.
