Class Experience
Kids learn to code in Scratch by building a solar system simulation. They create planet sprites, program orbits and add moons and information pop-ups.
Along the way they learn how the solar system really works, and they finish with a project they can share online.
How classes work
Each week starts with a short live demo of the new idea, followed by guided practice while the teacher checks in with every learner. Classes end with a small challenge to try before next time.
What we'll cover
Week 1: Scratch Basics – Learn the Scratch interface and make a first sprite move.
Week 2: Sprites – Create planet sprites and backdrops.
Week 3: Orbits – Program planets to orbit the sun with loops.
Week 4: Moons – Add moons that orbit their planets.
Week 5: Info – Add clickable pop-ups with planet facts.
Week 6: Share – Polish and share the finished simulation.
