Roblox Measurement Lab: Units, Scale and Conversions

Roblox measures everything in studs, which makes it a fun way to learn how units and measurement work. In this four-week course learners in grades 3 to 5 explore length, scale and conversions through building challenges.

In week one learners compare standard units like inches, feet and meters with Roblox studs. They measure their own objects at home and then build matching objects in Studio using a simple conversion. Week two focuses on scale. Learners discover how maps and models shrink real places and build a scale model of their classroom or bedroom. In week three learners convert between units, such as feet to inches and meters to centimeters, and use conversions to check whether their builds would fit in the real world. The final week brings everything together in a scale-city challenge, where learners build a small neighborhood with buildings that match real-life size ratios.

The teacher explains each idea with clear visuals and real examples, such as the height of a door or the length of a school bus. Learners complete short practice problems at the end of each class.

By the end learners will understand units, scale and simple conversions and be able to use them in both math problems and building projects. No coding is required.

How classes work

Each class pairs a short measurement lesson with a building challenge. Learners measure real objects at home and recreate them to scale in Roblox Studio.
