This one-time class is a gentle, screen-friendly break for children who carry a lot of busy energy or worry. Over 90 minutes, learners take part in a calm, structured mini-retreat that mixes movement, breathing and quiet time, so they can feel the difference between a wound-up body and a relaxed one.
The retreat follows a clear arc. We begin by arriving and noticing how our bodies feel, using a simple feelings check-in with pictures rather than words. Next comes an active yoga flow built around animal poses such as cat, cow, cobra, frog and flamingo, linked together into a short jungle adventure. Once the wiggles are out, we slow down with breathing games like balloon breath, bumblebee humming and star breathing, each one taught with a hand movement that makes it easy to remember.
In the second half, learners try a mindful listening game, a short gratitude moment and a guided body-scan relaxation lying on the floor. We finish by building a personal calm-down toolkit: each child picks the two or three poses and breaths that worked best for them and draws them on a printable card to keep by their bed or desk.
The teacher demonstrates every pose slowly, offers easier and harder versions, and never asks children to share feelings out loud unless they want to. Cameras can stay on a wide view of the mat, and children who need a pause can rest in child's pose at any time. No yoga experience is needed.
The single 90-minute session moves between active movement, breathing practice and quiet relaxation, with two short water breaks. Learners need a yoga mat or towel and enough floor space to stretch out their arms.
