Class Experience

How long is a blue whale compared to your bedroom? How fast is a cheetah compared to a car? Animal Math turns real animal facts into hands-on math problems that kids actually want to solve.

Learners measure with rulers and tape measures, compare lengths and weights, collect animal data and turn it into simple bar graphs. Each week ends with a mini investigation, so kids practise measurement, comparison and graphing while learning amazing animal science.

How classes work

Each week starts with a short live demo of the new idea, followed by guided practice while the teacher checks in with every learner. Classes end with a small challenge to try before next time.

What we'll cover

  • Week 1: How Long Is That Animal? – Measure classroom objects, then compare them with real animal lengths.

  • Week 2: Heavy and Light – Compare animal weights using familiar objects and simple multiplication.

  • Week 3: Speed Race – Compare animal speeds and order them from fastest to slowest.

  • Week 4: Graph the Animal Kingdom – Collect animal data, build a bar graph and present one finding.

Learning Outcomes

  • Measure lengths with rulers and tape measures

  • Compare animal sizes, speeds and weights using numbers

  • Collect data and make a simple bar graph

  • Answer questions using information in a graph

  • Explain how measurement helps scientists study animals

Prerequisites

No experience needed. Learners need a device with a camera and microphone for live classes.
