Winter break is a great chance to close math gaps before the new term, without the pressure of a busy classroom. This 1-on-1 catch-up package gives your child six focused 30-minute sessions over two weeks, all built around the skills they personally need.
The first session is a friendly, low-pressure skills check, never a test, so the tutor can see what your child already knows and where they get stuck. Together with the family, the tutor picks two or three priority goals. The following sessions rebuild the foundations step by step: number sense and place value, fluency with the operations your child finds tricky, a grade-level focus skill from school such as fractions or multi-digit subtraction, and word problems using a simple read, picture and solve plan.
Sessions are short and calm on purpose. Shy or math-anxious learners work privately with one encouraging adult, use visual models and manipulatives, and are never rushed or compared with others. The tutor celebrates effort and explains mistakes as useful clues.
At the end of the two weeks, families receive a short summary of progress and a simple practice plan for January. The level adapts from first grade through seventh grade math.
Each 30-minute session includes a quick warm-up, guided practice on a shared whiteboard and a short independent try. Session times are booked 1-on-1 with the tutor, three times a week for two weeks.
Strengthen number sense and place value understanding
Use reliable strategies for addition, subtraction, multiplication or division
Close one priority grade-level skill gap

Approach math with more confidence and less worry
Private, unhurried sessions with untimed practice, visual models and lots of encouragement help anxious or shy learners ask questions and make mistakes without pressure.
No preparation needed. Families are welcome to share recent schoolwork or report-card notes before the first session so the tutor can plan.

After enrolling, you book six 30-minute sessions with the tutor, three per week across two weeks of winter break. Times are arranged directly with the tutor based on availability.
The tutor adapts sessions for math from first grade through seventh grade. The first session is a friendly skills check to find the right starting point.
Sessions are private, unhurried and untimed, with visual models and lots of encouragement. Mistakes are treated as clues, and your child is never compared with anyone else.
Just a notebook, pencil and eraser. If possible, share recent schoolwork or teacher comments so the tutor can plan around your child's needs.
Families get a short summary of the skills practiced and progress seen, plus a simple practice plan for January. Six sessions are a focused refresh, not a guarantee of specific grades.
