Meet the Cube and Build the White Cross
Learners name centres, edges and corners, learn turn notation, and solve the white cross on their own scrambled cube.

Your child learns to solve a 3x3 cube from a scrambled start, one layer at a time, using a simple beginner method with memorable move patterns and plenty of guided practice over four camp days.

This camp takes the mystery out of the 3x3 cube. Learners discover how the cube is built from centres, edges and corners, then follow a clear layer-by-layer method: the white cross, the first layer corners, the middle layer edges and finally the yellow face and last layer.
Each short move pattern gets a friendly name and a hand trick, and kids practise it slowly until it sticks. By the final day they scramble their own cube and solve it from start to finish, then time a few solves to see how far they have come.
The camp runs as four back-to-back daily sessions in one week. Each day adds the next layer of the method, so learners show the move patterns live, get feedback on their turning, and leave with a short practice task to try before the next day.
Solve a scrambled 3x3 cube using a layer-by-layer method
Read and follow basic cube turn notation
Recognise centre, edge and corner pieces and how they move
Remember and apply short move patterns for each stage
Stay calm and retrace steps when a solve goes wrong
No experience needed. Learners should be able to tell left from right and follow short written steps. A working 3x3 cube and a computer or tablet with camera are required.
The 3x3 cube is used for every solve, and paper and pencil are for jotting down move patterns to practise.

Learners name centres, edges and corners, learn turn notation, and solve the white cross on their own scrambled cube.
Kids use one repeating move pattern to slot white corners into place and complete a full first layer with matching side colours.
Learners practise two mirror move patterns to place the middle edges, finishing the first two layers of the cube.
Kids orient and position the last layer, then scramble and solve the whole cube in a final showcase and time a solve.

Yes. The camp starts from the very first turn and assumes no cube knowledge. Learners build the solve one layer at a time, so a complete beginner can follow along as long as they can tell left from right and read short steps.
Any standard 3x3 cube works. A smooth-turning cube makes practice easier, but an expensive speed cube is not needed. Paper and a pencil are handy for writing down each move pattern.
That is the goal. By the last day most learners can solve a scrambled cube on their own using the beginner method, with their notes beside them. Some will need a little extra practice to solve it from memory.
It is a one-week camp with four 45-minute classes on back-to-back days. Each day teaches the next stage of the solve, and the final class ends with a solve showcase.
Possibly. The ages are a guide rather than a strict rule. A younger learner who can follow multi-step instructions, read simple notation and keep practising when a pattern feels tricky will usually manage well.
No. Every move pattern is taught in class, broken into small chunks with a name and a hand trick. Learners write them down and memorise them gradually through practice.
Yes, a short practice task of about ten minutes follows each day so the new move pattern sticks. There is no certificate for this camp; the solved cube is the result.
