Riddle Writing Workshop
Learners solve classic riddles, find the double meanings that make them work, and write two riddles of their own.

Kids crack and create riddles, word puzzles and secret codes each week, then write their own brain teasers for others to solve in a short, playful drop-in club.

Paid once.
This club celebrates clever wordplay and hidden messages. Each week learners warm up by solving a few riddles or codes together, learn the trick behind how they work, and then use that trick to write their own.
Themes rotate between riddles, picture rebus puzzles, letter-shift codes and number ciphers. Learners build a personal collection of original brain teasers in a notebook and take turns challenging the club to crack them. The short 30-minute format keeps the energy high and the puzzles bite-sized.
The club meets weekly for 30 minutes around a drop-in theme, so new learners can join any week. Sessions start with a quick solving warm-up, show the trick behind the puzzle type, then give time to create and share a new puzzle.
Write riddles that use double meanings fairly
Create picture rebus puzzles that spell out phrases
Encode and decode letter-shift secret messages
Build a simple paper cipher wheel
Explain the trick behind a puzzle to others
No experience needed. Learners should read and write simple sentences independently. A computer or tablet with camera, a notebook and pencils are needed.
The notebook holds each learner's puzzle collection, and paper, scissors and a paper fastener are used to make a cipher wheel.
A step-by-step plan of what your child learns, class by class.
Learners solve classic riddles, find the double meanings that make them work, and write two riddles of their own.
Kids decode picture-and-letter puzzles that spell out phrases, then draw their own rebus puzzle for the club to guess.
Learners crack messages written with shifted alphabets, then encode a secret note with their own shift key.
Kids swap letters for numbers, build a cipher wheel from paper, and write a mystery message for a friend.

Yes. The club is for beginners. Every session shows the trick behind a puzzle type with solved examples first, so learners understand how it works before writing their own.
Yes. It is a drop-in club, so each week's theme stands on its own and new learners can join any week. Themes rotate, so missed topics come around again.
A growing notebook of their own riddles, rebus puzzles and secret code messages, plus a paper cipher wheel they can use to send coded notes to family and friends.
Each weekly session lasts 30 minutes. That short length keeps puzzles quick and lively and suits learners who prefer bite-sized challenges.
Not usually. Learners need to read and write simple sentences, but puzzles are short and many use pictures and symbols. Rebus and number cipher weeks are especially friendly for reluctant readers.
No. Here "code" means secret codes and ciphers worked out on paper, not computer programming. It does build the pattern-spotting and logical thinking that help with programming later.
There is no homework, though many learners keep inventing puzzles in their notebook between sessions. No certificate is given for this club.
Cancel from the class in the parent dashboard. On a weekly plan, cancelling stops future billing. Sessions already started count as used, and unstarted ones are refunded to store credit or the original payment method.
