An eight-week financial literacy course where learners build a tycoon game in Roblox Studio and learn budgeting, saving, spending choices and simple interest along the way.

Paid once.
Tycoon games are all about earning and spending, which makes them perfect for learning real money skills. In this eight-week course learners build a tycoon game in Roblox Studio and use it to explore budgeting, saving and smart money choices.
Learners begin by learning the difference between income and expenses and between needs and wants. They build a simple tycoon where machines earn coins, and they track their earnings in a budget sheet. Next they set savings goals, deciding whether to buy small upgrades now or save for a bigger upgrade later, and compare how each choice affects their progress.
In the middle weeks learners add a savings bank to their tycoon that pays a small amount of interest over time, discovering how money can grow when saved. They explore opportunity cost by comparing what they give up with every purchase. Later weeks introduce simple budgeting rules, such as splitting income into spend, save and share, and learners apply them to both their game and a pretend allowance.
In the final weeks learners present their tycoon and budget plan, explaining one money decision they are proud of. The teacher connects game choices to real life with examples families can discuss at home.
By the end learners will understand budgeting, saving and interest. Simple provided scripts mean no coding experience is required.
Each class introduces a money concept, then learners apply it in their tycoon and budget sheet. Learners discuss real-life examples at the end of class.
