Potions Class: Kitchen Chemistry for Young Wizards

Every young wizard dreams of potions class. In this course learners brew safe, fizzy, bubbling and color-changing potions from kitchen ingredients and discover the real chemistry behind the magic.

Each week explores one science idea, such as acids and bases or chemical reactions, through a themed potion recipe. Learners record observations in a potions journal, just like real scientists.

How classes work

Each week starts with a short live demo of the new idea, followed by guided practice while the teacher checks in with every learner. Classes end with a small challenge to try before next time.

What we'll cover

• Week 1: Color-Changing Elixir – Make a red cabbage indicator and test which kitchen liquids are acids or bases.

• Week 2: Fizzing Potions – Explore gas-producing reactions with baking soda and different acids.

• Week 3: Bubbling Cauldron Foam – Create safe foam with soap and yeast and learn what a catalyst does.

• Week 4: Master Potion Challenge – Design, test and present your own potion recipe with a written method.

No experience needed. Learners need a device with a camera and microphone for live classes.
