Class Experience
Chemistry is much easier when the basics are solid. This private course introduces matter, atoms, the periodic table and chemical reactions with clear explanations and simple home experiments.
Learners also practise writing lab reports, so they are well prepared for middle and high school science classes.
How classes work
Every session is private and paced to the learner. The teacher starts by checking where the learner is, adjusts the plan to their goals and gives detailed feedback in every class.
What we'll cover
Session 1: Matter – Explore states of matter and physical changes.
Session 2: Atoms – Learn about protons, neutrons and electrons.
Session 3: Periodic Table – Read and use the periodic table to find patterns.
Session 4: Compounds – Learn how atoms bond to form compounds.
Session 5: Reactions – Observe chemical reactions and balance simple equations.
Session 6: Acids and Bases – Test acids and bases with a red cabbage indicator.
Session 7: Lab Reports – Write a full lab report from a home experiment.
Session 8: Review – Review key ideas and plan next steps.
