This resource does a great job explaining solar wind and the role of different gases in producing colors, and the historical/geographic notes were a welcome addition. My child enjoyed most of the 55-minute lesson but some parts felt a bit dense for the younger end of the 8–12 range. I think kids closer to 10–12 would get the most out of it. Overall it's informative and engaging, just slightly advanced in places.

As a parent of an 8-year-old I appreciated the clear explanations of charged particles and atmospheric interactions. The historical and geographic context added nice background, and the section about auroras on other planets sparked lots of curiosity. It felt well paced for a one-week, one-lesson course.

The 55-minute digital slide session was just the right length for my 11-year-old. He loved learning about solar wind interactions and how different atmospheric gases create specific colors.

My 9-year-old was completely captivated — the slides made the chemistry and physics behind the Northern Lights really easy to follow.
