Narrative Writing: Story Craft, Revision, and Multiple Genres

This narrative writing course was a great fit for my 14-year-old who wanted to try multiple genres. Over the 13-week semester the pacing felt thoughtful, and the combination of in-class writing, character work, and peer feedback kept her engaged. The short weekly lessons made it manageable alongside other activities while still introducing useful revision strategies.

American History Through Art and Objects: Indigenous America to Civil War

Good course overall — my 14-year-old enjoyed learning to analyze artworks and artifacts and the historical scope was engaging, but with only one 45-minute lesson per week I would have preferred a slightly longer session or an extra meeting to dig deeper into some topics.

Narrative Writing: Story Craft, Revision, and Multiple Genres

A solid semester-long course that clearly focuses on story craft, revision strategies, and peer feedback. The 30-minute weekly lessons fit our schedule, though I sometimes wished there was a little more time dedicated to practicing revisions.

American History Through Art and Objects: Indigenous America to Civil War

My 17-year-old signed up for this nine-week course and really appreciated the discussion-based approach. Each 45-minute session made it easy for them to practice visual analysis and place artworks and artifacts into historical context from Indigenous America through the Civil War. The pacing felt appropriate for a high school student and I saw noticeable growth in their evidence-based interpretation skills.
