Halloween Candy Sorting: Intro to Data, Counting, and Graphs

My 8-year-old had a lot of fun sorting Halloween candy and really liked making the simple graphs after the guided activity. The short video intro and graphing tutorial were clear, and the review game helped reinforce the counting and categories. Only small quibble is that the single 55-minute session felt a bit long for his attention span — two shorter chunks might work better — otherwise a very engaging intro to basic data skills.
