Sonic Story Writers: Write Your Own Zone Adventure

This course channels a love of fast-paced games into real story writing. Learners invent their own zone, a hero with a special ability and a villain with a clever plan, then write a complete adventure story over four weeks.

Each class teaches one writing skill, from planning a plot to writing fast action and satisfying endings. The teacher gives feedback on every draft, and learners finish with an original story they can share with family and friends.

How classes work

Each week starts with a short live demo of the new idea, followed by guided practice while the teacher checks in with every learner. Classes end with a small challenge to try before next time.

What we'll cover

• Week 1: Design Your Zone and Hero – Invent a zone, a hero and a villain, and plan the story's main problem.

• Week 2: Plot the Adventure – Outline the beginning, the big chase and the final showdown.

• Week 3: Write the Action – Draft the exciting middle of the story using short sentences and vivid verbs.

• Week 4: Revise and Share – Improve the ending, fix errors and share the finished adventure.

No experience needed. Learners need a device with a camera and microphone for live classes.
