Class Experience
Behind every popular Roblox game is a team making business decisions. In this eight-week course learners aged 10 to 14 explore entrepreneurship by planning their own game business.
Learners start by learning what entrepreneurs do and studying how successful games solve a problem or meet a need for players. They brainstorm game ideas and research their audience with short surveys of classmates. Next they define their target players and what makes their game different.
In the middle weeks learners explore the business side. They estimate the time and resources needed to build their game, discuss how games earn money fairly, and use simple math to estimate revenue and costs in a basic spreadsheet. Learners discuss ethical choices, such as avoiding pay-to-win designs and protecting young players. They also design a brand, including a game name, logo sketch and short description.
In the final weeks learners build a simple prototype or trailer scene in Roblox Studio and prepare a pitch. They present to the class as if to investors, explaining the idea, audience, business plan and next steps, and they answer questions.
The teacher guides each step with real-world examples and templates. No coding experience is required. The course builds skills in planning, math and communication.
How classes work
