1-on-1 Advanced Watercolor Studio

Advanced watercolor is about control and confidence. In this private studio course the teacher builds on what the learner can already do and pushes into layered glazing, wet-in-wet effects and expressive color.

Each session combines a short technique demo with a guided painting, and the teacher gives detailed feedback on composition and color choices. Learners finish with a set of finished paintings for their portfolio.

How classes work

Every session is private and paced to the learner. The teacher starts by checking where the learner is, adjusts the plan to their goals and gives detailed feedback in every class.

What we'll cover

• Session 1: Studio Setup and Review – Review current paintings and practise controlled washes.

• Session 2: Color Mixing Mastery – Create a personal mixing chart and limited palettes.

• Session 3: Glazing and Depth – Layer transparent glazes to build depth in a still life.

• Session 4: Wet-in-Wet Effects – Paint skies and blooms with expressive wet-in-wet.

• Session 5: Landscape Composition – Plan and paint a landscape with strong focal points.

• Session 6: Final Portfolio Painting – Complete a finished painting of the learner's choice.

For learners who already know basic watercolor washes. Device with camera.
