As a parent of a fourth grader, I liked that the class met once a week for 50 minutes — manageable with our schedule. Over the 12 weeks my child developed better annotation habits and more stamina for longer reading tasks. The balance of vocabulary-in-context, comprehension work, and short writing responses felt appropriately challenging for Grades 3–5 without being overwhelming.

The course's use of short fiction, nonfiction, and paired texts made comprehension practice feel engaging for my 8-year-old. We appreciated the guided practice and writing mini-responses that reinforced constructed response strategies like A.C.E./RACE.
