A solid creative writing workshop for ages 10–13 with clear structure and a good pace over the eight-week session.

This workshop delivered on its promise: structured lessons that guided students through story elements, timed writing to spark ideas, and multiple rounds of revision and editing. By the end of the eight weeks my 13-year-old had a polished original short story and stronger writing habits.

After five or six lessons it was clear my 11-year-old understood plot and character better; the peer critique component encouraged thoughtful revision. The 55-minute weekly lessons were a manageable commitment.

I liked that revision and editing were central parts of the class — my child learned to take a draft and turn it into a finished short story over the eight weeks. The weekly rhythm worked well for our family schedule.
