Great entry point to music reading and ensemble play for kids aged 8 to 13. The eight-week structure and the songs that reinforce each new note made steady improvement noticeable.

We enrolled our 13-year-old in Bach to Rock: A Music History Survey and were impressed by the breadth—from Baroque composers through mid-20th-century popular music. Each 60-minute lesson packed in listening and discussion without feeling rushed, and the eight-week length kept things focused. The mix of readings and slides really supported the activities and helped my child understand different musical periods, so I'd recommend it for tweens who enjoy learning about music.

Nice beginner course—concise 30-minute lessons and ensemble practice made learning the recorder manageable for our kid.

The course covers recorder basics and note-reading, which was useful, but the pace felt too slow for my 12-year-old. One 30-minute lesson per week over eight weeks didn’t provide enough challenge.
