Comic Book Creation & Publishing: From Script to Printed Book

Fantastic course for teens serious about comics — my 14-year-old was fully engaged for all eight weeks and came away with a completed 4-page comic and greater confidence in their process. I liked that lessons included warm-up drawing exercises, character sheets, panel/page layout, and moved through penciling, inking, graytones/coloring, and lettering before covering scanning and printing options. The class even touched on promotion strategies, which was a nice bonus for older students thinking about next steps. At 55 minutes per lesson, the weekly rhythm worked well for us and kept momentum without burning out. Highly recommend for motivated kids in the 12–16 age range.

Comic Book Creation & Publishing: From Script to Printed Book

As a parent I appreciated that this is an advanced, project-focused class aimed at ages 12–16 and that each session sticks to a clear agenda from warm-ups to inking and coloring. The 55-minute lessons once a week fit into our schedule, but sometimes the class felt a bit rushed when covering technical steps like scanning and desktop publishing. Overall the storytelling and panel layout instruction were strong, and my child finished with a real comic mockup. I would recommend it if you're prepared for a concentrated pace.

Comic Book Creation & Publishing: From Script to Printed Book

My 15-year-old completed the 8-week course and loved the hands-on approach to creating a 4-page comic for print. The sequence from warm-up drawing exercises to scanning and graytones made the professional workflow feel accessible. They especially enjoyed working on lettering and desktop publishing layouts.
