Film & Story: The Hero's Journey and Character Archetypes

This was a wonderful fit for my 13-year-old — the Hero's Journey steps and character archetypes were explained clearly and the film examples made the ideas stick. Mapping an original hero story using a beat sheet over the six weeks (one 55-minute lesson per week) gave her a concrete way to organize her creativity. The pacing was spot on for an after-school activity and she came away proud of the story she built.
