This course is strong on strategy practice and evidence-based answers, and my 8-year-old managed most of the material. I deducted one star because a few passages were slightly above grade level.

I liked that the course concentrated on specific skills like context clues and inference. The 40-minute lesson length worked well and the single-week intensive was a convenient way to focus on reading comprehension.

There were some helpful passages for practicing main idea, but the overall pacing and difficulty level didn't suit my 9-year-old. For us it felt disorganized and too short to see progress.

Great emphasis on inference and using evidence from both fiction and nonfiction. The five lessons in the week kept momentum and my 11-year-old actually looked forward to the practice.
